S/T and Other Operational Modes
The AirCurve 10 S/T has a total of five operational modes - spontaneous (S), spontaneous/timed (S/T), timed (T), VAuto and conventional CPAP mode. The primary mode of this particular VPAP device - spontaneous/timed (S/T) - will initiate a breath and begin IPAP. The duration of IPAP is controlled by your machine; this VPAP device will then automatically reduce pressure to EPAP. The S/T mode provides consistent relief and minimizes discomfort during therapy.

Expiratory Pressure Relief
Adapting to the pressure levels generated by sleep apnea machines is one of the most difficult challenges for new patients. The expiratory pressure relief (EPR) function for the AirCurve 10 S/T makes adjusting to such pressure levels much easier by providing consistent and substantial relief throughout your whole therapy session. When you inhale, the EPR function will artificially lower the pressure in order to deliver relief, and then elevate the pressure back to normal levels upon exhalation.

Smart Start/Stop
This device has SmartStart/SmartStop functions which simplify the processes of turning on and turning off your machine. When you take your first breath into your mask, SmartStart will automatically turn your machine on; then when you remove your mask SmartStop will automatically shut your device off. This technology not only makes it easier to operate your machine it also helps conserve machine power.

Vsync and TiControl
Vsync automatic leak management is an algorithm which monitors your breathing cycle and attempts to make proper adjustments when patients experience unintentional mask leakage. Mask leakage decreases your seal quality and can seriously compromise your results; Vsync is designed to make corrections automatically so you receive your desired pressure levels consistently throughout sleep. The Vsync algorithm works together with TiControl. TiControl enables patients to set minimum and maximum time limits so they can better address issues with their breathing cycle. Using TiControl will allow you to maximize the effectiveness of the Vsync system.

Advanced Humidification System
The humidification system for the AirCurve 10 S/T - the HumidAir - is a technologically sophisticated device which represents a significant improvement when compared with earlier humidifiers. The HumidAir system will maintain your desired temperature and humidity levels and help prevent some of the unpleasant potential side effects of therapy such as nasal congestion, irritation, sore throat and so forth.

ClimateLineAir Tubing(Optional)
The AirCurve10 is compatible with standard tubing, SlimLine tubing and the newly created ClimateLineAIR heated tubing. The ClimateLineAIR heated tubing was designed specifically to work for the AirCurve/Sense 10 and will contribute substantially to your humidification. You will avoid the troubles of rain-out, overheating and other pitfalls. One thing to keep in mind is the AirSense/Curve 10 ClimateLineAir tubing and general Climate-line tubing are not compatible

Ramp Function
In order to help patients fall asleep more naturally, the AirCurve 10 S/T is equipped with an advanced ramp function. The ramp function allows users to artificially suspend the influx of pressure for a specified period of time (between 5 and 45 minutes) so they will not take notice

Mask Fitting Feature
The AirCurve 10 S/T offers a special function which will visually indicate whether your mask has been fitted correctly and is therefore providing an effective seal. When your mask is installed, the AirCurve 10 S/T will display either a smiling face or a frown face - intuitively, a smiling face means that your seal is effective while a frown indicates that your seal is defective and your mask fit needs to be corrected.
